Q: How is coaching different than therapy?A: Here is a generalized answer: 1) Therapy/counseling is often about unpacking grief and pain. While I do this often with clients at the beginning, coaching is more forward-focused, about answering "What now/how" in creating a future you want. 2) Therapy can help you process trauma/crisis and get back to functioning. Coaching helps you take action, shift your mindset, and move from functioning to truly flourishing. It you are open and ready to making some shifts to change your current life and see real results/change, Coaching is for you!
-
Q: I feel overwhelmed, busy, or concerned about finances and committing. Is this for me, right now?A: These (and others) are such important concerns. Please hear: 1) I believe you are worth every resource (time, money, effort, etc.) to be safe, to heal and to grow! Every individual decides for themselves the value of investing in themself and their future, and must answer the question: "How important is healing and rebuilding my life, to me?" 2) Coaching isn’t about my agenda. It’s about your desired outcomes. I am here to support what is best for you, not convince you what it should be (although I offer guidance, tools and direction- it isn't "advice"). This is why I always lead with individual consultations to determine if this is a good fit for both of us. 3) As a good Coach, I will listen and believe in you and your dreams more than you even do. Then, I advocate for your transformation. This includes helping you overcome objections, limiting thoughts and beliefs that are keeping you stuck where you are. This is really about taking a deeper looking together at yourself and your beliefs. Only you can answer the above question, but in my experience, these often stem from fearful and resistant thoughts to your growth and change.
-
Q: Is this Christian Coaching?A: Yes, faith in Jesus is the foundation. Coaching with Rachel is Biblically based, Spirit-led, and rooted in the hope of Christ. However, I never turn away or disqualify a widow wanting to heal and grow based on her beliefs, and will respect your individual beliefs. You just need to know what my foundation is.
